I have several friends in Fayetteville, Arkansas that I’ve been lucky enough to visit every year or two. This visit is my second in only six months, which is great. I stayed with Derek & Holly who have the cutest 2-year-old daughter Ivy (see my links at right!). We went out for “Ark-Mex” (what I call Tex-Mex in Arkansas) with Felicia & Jessica (aka Felxi & Yessi) which was delicious. (Sidenote: You can tell Ark-Mex from Tex-Mex when there is “cheese dip” on the menu instead of “queso”.) Ivy wore the red cowgirl boots I brought her when she was born in 2006.
The next day, we went to Terra Studios, about 30 minutes outside of Fayetteville, to check it out. The grounds are full of fantastical sculptures and mosaics, not to mention the trademark “original glass bluebird of happiness”. It was a beautiful day, but the tics were out of control!
The weekend was made complete with a bicycle ride around Lake Fayetteville with Ivy’s new front-riding seat on Derek’s bike. (See Ivy’s blog entry here.)
